Eric M. Berlin has been training trumpeters since 1989. He is the newly appointed Artist-Teacher of Trumpet at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is Principal Trumpet of the Albany Symphony Orchestra and leader of the Majestic Brass Quintet. His teaching positions have included Visiting Faculty at the Longy School of Music, Artist in Residence at Northeastern University, and Trumpet Instructor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also maintains a private studio of students from elementary school to retirement age. Mr. Berlin's methods are informed by the teachings of Charles Schlueter (BSO Principal), Vince Penzerella (New York Philharmonic) Frank Kaderabek (Philadelphia Orchestra, Principal), Robert Nagel (New York Brass Quintet) and sports psychologist Bob Rotella. He stresses a physically efficient and musically informed approach to produce powerful and consistent musicians.
