Tubist Matthew
Gaunt currently serves as Principal Tuba of the
Albany Symphony, Berkshire Symphony, and Indian Hill
Symphony Orchestras and has also performed with the
Vermont Symphony, Portland Symphony, Springfield
Symphony, Rhode Island Philharmonic, Boston Symphony
Orchestra and the Tanglewood Music Center Fellowship
Orchestra under the baton of Leonard Bernstein.
In
addition to performing with the world-renowned Empire
Brass, his chamber music experience includes national and
international tours and recordings as a member of the
award-winning Epic Brass, Paramount Brass, and Boston
Brass Quintets. He currently performs and records with
the Cleveland-based Burning River Brass and the unique
chamber ensemble Proteus 7. A graduate of the Boston
University School for the Arts, Mr. Gaunt as served as
the Brass Ensemble Director for the Greater Boston Youth
Symphony Orchestra and been on the faculty of the Boston
University Tanglewood Institute and the South Shore
Conservatory of Music.
